Bare minimum of EU rules for UK

Business minister Michael Fallon yesterday confirmed to the House of Commons that he will end the practice of Whitehall bureaucrats “gold-plating” EU legislation when putting it onto the British statute book. He said this “will ensure that no unnecessary legislative burdens are placed on UK businesses”. In the past civil servants have taken the opportunity to strengthen laws from Brussels, such as giving temporary staff the right to the same pay as permanent staff.
