Barclays Wealth mulls move back to Mayfair
BARCLAYS Wealth is considering moving its high net worth team back to its Mayfair office after just over a year in Canary Wharf, City A.M. can confirm.
Barclays Wealth, which has around 60 bankers in its high net worth division to manage assets for those with more than £5m to invest, could move back into its Brook Street offices to be closer to its clients in the West End.
The Brook Street office has been used as a meeting venue since the consolidation, with bankers travelling between Docklands and the West End.
Barclays moved its high net worth division to its main headquarters in January 2010 as part of a plan to house all its operations under one roof.
Barclays declined to comment yesterday. The firm has a policy of periodically reviewing its offices.
Barclays Wealth, mid-way through a big expansion push, yesterday appointed 12 bankers to its Asian offices.
