Balfour Beatty sells off PFI assets

FTSE 250-listed infrastructure group Balfour Beatty yesterday announced that it has sold off a number of private finance initiative (PFI) assets as part of its diversification strategy. The group sold its 50 per cent stakes in four PFI schools projects to its co-shareholder Innisfree for a total of £42.5m. It also sold its 50 per cent stake in the Tameside Hospital PFI for £16m.
