Bad weather hits CRH profits

Irish building materials manufacturer CRH saw its shares tumble yesterday, after it forecast that first-half earnings would fall to €400m (£339m) compared to €480m year-on-year. The company said that bad weather and a weak European market had impacted the figures, but the second half of the year should be more profitable, assuming for normal weather patterns. CRH’s shares closed down 3.55 per cent yesterday.
