ATKINS, the design and engineering consultancy group, said yesterday its year to date results are in line with expectations.
It warned that market conditions remained turbulent and that it continues to adjust staffing levels in line with prospective demand.
The design and engineering company has continued to undertake significant restructuring due to crumbling construction markets in the UK and Middle East.
But the Highways and Transportation segment has performed strongly, benefiting from the UK government spending.
The firm’s Middle East, Europe and China businesses are also on course to meet expectations, with the rail business in Hong Kong remaining particularly busy.
“We continue to take the necessary steps to navigate successfully in difficult market conditions,” the company said.
