ARM chief executive to retire

THE chief executive of ARM Holdings is to step down in July following a 12 year tenure.

Warren East will retire in July and hand the reins over to Simon Segars, currently president of the FTSE chipmaker, who has been with ARM since 199.1.

East has been with ARM for 19 years and spent 12 of them as chief executive.

The Cambridge-based firm has seen strong share price performance in recent years, on resilient demand for its chips that are used in smartphones and tablets.
