■ Lawyers are known for their love of reading long documents, and none more so it seems than magic circle firm Linklaters, which is sponsoring the bringing together of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta at the British Library. Enthusiasts eager to see the historic tomes will have to hold their horses though, as the books will not be brought together until 2015 – the 800th anniversary of the issue of the Charter. Bringing a slice of the Alps to the Isle of Dogs of course means there will be vendors selling regional produce from France ... and that other cycling hotspot Yorkshire.
