As far as AG Barr is concerned we think it is a very sound company. They have plenty of scope to grow given their market share... For Britvic they are by and large already a national player. They look less attractive from a revenue perspective but they are working through the new strategy, which involves removing cost.

They are both ploughing their separate furrows in the manner one would expect. AG Barr’s results to some extent reflect the good weather whereas for Britvic that is yet to come. Britvic is going to remain under scrutiny, with people waiting to be convinced that it is definitely on the mend.

There were a plethora of updates [yesterday]. AG Barr is the stand out company with revenue growth of 9.8 per cent. Following Britvic’s decision to abandon merger talks, we would like it to highlight how it intends to deliver long term shareholder value in excess of what would have been achieved as an enlarged entity.
