Amec wins £68m oil contract

Oil services and engineering group Amec has netted a £68m contract in the North Sea to deliver two new oil platforms. Amec – which has been appointed by BP as well as co-explorers Shell, ConocoPhillips and Chevron – will deliver the hook-up and commissioning services for two new platforms in the area. The contract is scheduled to run until March 2016 and will involve the work of around 800 engineers.
