AMA Kobi lives in the town of Koforidua in Ghana. Thanks to a loan from Opportunity International, Ama was able to purchase and farm six acres of local land.
By investing in seeds and fertilisers, the harvest from Ama’s land has improved in both quality and quantity. She has used the increased profits generated from the land to feed her family regularly, pay her children’s school fees and employ labourers from her village.
She has also been able to rebuild the collapsed wall in her house and start saving money for the future: “I feel blessed by this loan – it has given us a nice place to live and improved our daily life,” she said.
