FERRARI’S Fernando Alonso believes this season’s Formula One championship is up for grabs for many of the top drivers, after the Spaniard eased to an impeccable victory at the Chinese Grand Prix.

Alonso passed the chequered flag 10 seconds ahead of Lotus’s Kimi Raikkonen, to finish in one hour, 36 minutes and 27 seconds.

“I think at the moment Lotus, Red Bull and Mercedes are in the same position as us. I don’t see anyone has a clear advantage It’s a very open championship,” he said.

The Mercedes of Britain’s Lewis Hamilton narrowly pipped Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel to third.

Fellow Brit Jenson Button’s two-stop strategy saw him finish fifth.

The result sees Raikkonen jump to within three points of Vettel in the drivers’ rankings, while Alonso pushes Hamilton into fourth place.
