ALLEN & OVERY yesterday promoted 19 lawyers to its partnership, including six based in its London office.
The largest number of promotions comes in the magic circle law firm’s global banking practice, where it named seven partners including Kevin Young in London along with lawyers in Warsaw, Belgium, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Singapore, and Amsterdam.
The other new partners in London are tax specialist Charles Yorke, Jeffrey Sullivan in international arbitration, Theo Trayhurn and Tom Grant in international capital markets, and Sara Pickersgill from the firm’s corporate team.
The majority of the promotions – 68 per cent – are based outside of London.
Allen & Overy employs more than 500 partners across its 42 worldwide offices, making up around a tenth of it global headcount of 5,000 people.
Managing partner Wim Dejonghe said the promotions “reflect our commitment to developing the best talent to deliver the high performance our clients expect in all markets.”
