Aker Solutions wins BP oil deal

Oil services provider Aker Solutions has snapped up a £70m contract with BP to help redevelop North Sea oilfields. The firm’s Aberdeen arm will manufacture and supply all subsea control equipment for BP’s Schiehallion and adjacent Loyal field, around 100 miles west of the Shetland Islands. The fields are estimated to contain a furth 450m barrels of recoverable oil, and a £3bn upgrade is underway.
