BRITISH soft drinks maker AG Barr today revealed a 2.4 per cent increase in revenue for the 15 weeks to 12 May 2013, but warned that the summer period would be challenging.

The FTSE 250-listed company said that the year-on-year growth compared favourably with the overall soft drinks market which had remained flat over the period, impacted by poor weather and a strong prior year performance.

“As we now enter the key summer trading period we anticipate that the marketplace will remain highly competitive,” said the company.

“Our commercial and operational plans are well developed and we remain focused on delivering a strong result for the year.”
