African Barrick updates on review

Shares in African Barrick fell four per cent yesterday after the gold miner gave an update on its operational review. African Barrick said it has cut its international staffing numbers by 16 per cent as part of its drive to reduce costs, and the group is reviewing all expansion plans. The firm said yesterday it has brought in KPMG to assist with the rest of the review. Chief executive Greg Hawkins said the firm was making good progress after a tough year.
