JONATHAN Rowley, managing director mergers & acquisitions, is one of the UBS team advising PTT on its pursuit of Cove Energy.
Rowley has also advised Altimo, the telecoms arm of Russia's Alfa group, on the sale of its 25.1 per cent indirect equity stake in Russia’s MegaFon for $5.2bn, and Vodafone on its £1bn cash offer for CWW.
Oxford-educated Rowley worked at Price Waterhouse between 1993 and 1996.
The executive is part of a team which also includes Philip Wolfe, head of energy for EMEA. He was formerly global head of oil & gas at HSBC Bank.
Before that he was a director at Deutsche Bank.
Gerhard Riegler, executive director, oil & gas at UBS is also on the team.
He was previously associate director oil & gas at HSBC.
Riegler was educated at the University of Illinois, Chicago and has been at UBS for almost two years. The PTT pursuit of Cove Energy pitches it against Royal Dutch Shell. Geraldine Murphy heads the oil & gas advisory team at Standard Chartered Bank and is leading the team advising Cove.
