Ian Green led the innovative deal for UK Coal. Green joined PwC 25 years ago, has been a partner for over ten years, and is now the regional chairman for PwC’s operations in Yorkshire and the North East.
This includes overseeing more than 1,000 members of staff at key offices, including Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield and Hull.
Green also leads the firm's Northern restructuring practice, providing advice to failing businesses and their stakeholders on turnaround and recovery strategies and, if appropriate, taking insolvency appointments.
Green has said that he is “committed to growing our presence in the market and offering our breadth of expertise to clients in every part of the region”.
His expertise lies in corporate reconstructions, restructuring and accelerated mergers and acquisitions.
As well as the UK Coal split, his recent assignments included a £500m food processing business, and a £600m retailer.
Ian has spent his entire career at PwC, and has worked in Leeds, Newcastle and London.
He has built up a reputation as one of the most experienced business recovery and insolvency experts in the UK and has an extensive background of carrying out strategic and financial reviews in both the commercial and public sectors and other advisory and formal insolvency appointments.
