KEITH ANDERSON
INVESTEC
INVESTEC is acting as financial adviser to Melrose on its recommended cash offer for the entire issued share capital of Elster.
Investec’s Keith Anderson, co-head of corporate broking and Investec veteran, is leading the deal.
Anderson has advised Melrose before, having worked with Investec managing director Chris Baird on the company’s secondary share placing in April.
He was also recently appointed as a broker to Halma, a FTSE 250-listed UK technology provider, having advised the firm in previous years while the pair worked at Dresdner Kleinwort.
Anderson joined Investec in 2002 having been previously at WestLB Panmure, where he was head of corporate broking and a member of the investment banking management committee. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Investec has picked up a string of clients since taking over Evolution in September last year, including engineering group Ricardo and Halma.
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett is representing Melrose on the legal aspects of the deal.
Simpson Thacher is a long time adviser of Melrose. The US firm represented the fund on its disposal of Dynacast to KDI Holdings, in June last year.
