Adidas aims for World Cup boost

German sportswear maker Adidas expects sales from its football division to break the €2bn (£1.7bn) barrier for the first time in 2014, when the World Cup is played in Brazil, company executives said yesterday. Adidas, a sponsor of the Fifa World Cup, expects “double-digit sales growth” in Latin America in the years to come. The firm made €1.7bn in football sales in 2012.
