Ad spending is on the increase

SPENDING on advertising around the world is set to grow 3.7 per cent this year, below previous forecasts of a five per cent expansion, media buying agency Carat said in research yesterday.

The firm expects five per cent expansion by 2014, with a double-digit surge from Latin America offsetting a slower return to growth in the Eurozone.

Carat expects digital adverts to account for a fifth of overall spending by next year, and believes the platform already dominates expenditure in the UK, Sweden and the Netherlands.
