Accenture boosts earnings forecasts

SHARES in management consultancy Accenture rose 5.3 per cent to $54.73 (£33.55) in after hours trading yesterday after it said high client demand would boost its full-year revenue and earnings forecasts.

Bookings in stood at $6.98bn, up from $6.3bn the previous quarter, chief executive Pierre Nanterme said.

Revenue in the second-quarter, to the end of February, rose to $6.1bn from $5.2bn a year earlier while net income rose to $566m or 75 cents per share from $462m or 60 cents per share a year earlier.

Accenture expects full-year earnings per share to reach between $3.22 and $3.30 -- higher than a December forecast of $3.08 to $3.16 and above the average analyst forecast of $3.14 per share.
