Aberdeen Asset Management pair die in charity cycle tragedy

ABERDEEN Asset Management yesterday confirmed two of its staff had been killed in a tragic accident during a charity bike ride.

Andrew McMenigall, a senior investment manager in the fund manager’s Edinburgh office, and Toby Wallace, a senior relationship manager in its Philadelphia office, both died after being struck by a lorry on the ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats. The two cyclists were doing the ride in aid of the Kirsten Scott Memorial Trust, set up in memory of a colleague who lost her battle with cancer in October 2011.

“Our thoughts are with the families of Andrew and Toby, ” said Aberdeen chief executive Martin Gilbert.
