BOOK to film adaptations have provided a boost to UK publishers in recent years, with the likes of Little Brown capitalising on the Twilight success and now Random House getting a boost from the 50 Shades of Grey raunchy trilogy yesterday.
While the rumour mill is busy going into overdrive about who will bag the coveted Christian Grey role in the upcoming film, The Capitalist hears that Twilight publisher Little Brown used to treat employees, friends and family to special screenings of the vampire series.
Will Random House be doing the same? The firm said yesterday it was “too premature” to consider a screening of 50 Shades – The Capitalist imagines that it would make for rather uncomfortable viewing alongside colleagues too.
