Doyle turned to face the field and pressed his finger to his lips after the 8/11 favourite saw off rival Night Of Thunder, who beat Kingman in the 2,000 Guineas, to win by two and a quarter lengths.
“I probably shouldn’t have done that,” he said. “I let my emotions go a bit but I got a lot of satisfaction from that. A lot of things were said after the Guineas and he’s proved he is the best of the three-year-olds.”
Richard Hughes enjoyed two Group One winners. Favourite Toronado claimed the Queen Anne Stakes, before Sole Power proved a 5/1 victor in the King’s Stand Stakes.
