CEO of Hermes Fund Managers Saker Nusseibeh
1 One of Saker’s ancestors was a warrior chieftain who defended the Prophet Muhammad in the famous battle of Uhud in 625. Consequently, his family have been guardians of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem for centuries. “It’s a crap job. My cousin has it – it just involves closing the gates everyday.”
2 He’s a huge music fan, citing classical and American country as his passions. A guitar player, he used to show off his own musical talents by busking in London when he was a student – the Kingsway underpass was his patch.
3 Saker loves medieval history – having grown up in Jerusalem he went to Eton and then on to Kings College where he got a PhD in History from King’s College, London.
