LENOVO, the world’s biggest personal computer maker, yesterday met analyst estimates when it reported a 29 per cent rise in profits for the year, as poor growth in China was propped up by sales in other markets.

Profit for the year to 31 March hit $817.2m (£484.4m), a record high, and China, which accounts for almost two-fifths of its $38.7bn total revenues, was up 1.3 per cent. Lenovo’s shares rose 3.4 per cent in Hong Kong to HK$ 9.44 per share.
