The law firm has hired Mark Gleeson, formerly head of the data and information practice at Addleshaw Goddard, as a partner in the firm’s global intellectual property and technology practice. Gleeson, formerly head of data protection for Barclaycard, has more than 15 years’ experience within the financial services industry, including time at consulting firm Mercer Limited.

Curtis Davis Garrard
The law firm has hired Matt Hannaford as a partner. He specialises in maritime finance and joins from Clyde, where he was a partner in transportation finance practice. Prior to that, Hannaford held roles at Clifford Chance.

PwC
The professional services firm has announced the appointment of Michel Meert as an investment advisory director in its London office. He was previously a senior investment consultant at Towers Watson, and chief information officer at KBL European Private Bankers.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
The law firm has appointed Simon Marchant and Simon Priddis as heads of its London corporate practice, and antitrust, competition and trade practice respectively.

FTI Consulting
The business advisory firm has hired Leor Franks as regional director of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He joins from EY, where he was a marketing director. Prior to that, Franks was director of marketing and business development in the corporate finance practice at Deloitte.

Algomi
The London-based fixed income-focused information matching company has appointed Hugh Willis as a strategic adviser. Willis was formerly chief executive at BlueBay Asset Management.

Square Mile
Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research has made two appointments. Victoria Hasler joins as a senior investment research analyst from Brewin Dolphin. Andrew Johnston joins as an investment research analyst, focusing on equities fund analysis.
