PAUL JONES | PANMURE GORDON
A good update from Hays, with impressive UK growth and further evidence of a pick-up in activity levels and profitability. We believe recruitment stocks could now deliver increasing levels of profitability as activity and productivity levels improve, and with increasing client confidence the outlook remains positive.

DAVID O’BRIEN | SHORE CAPITAL
We are retaining our positive stance on the shares, following the upbeat [update] today. Should we be correct in assuming that candidate led churn is set to become a more permanent feature of the UK and other recruitment markets, then we think that the upgrade cycle is likely to return.

PAUL CHECKETTS | BARCLAYS
A very strong quarter from Hays with like-for-like growth having accelerated from three per cent in Q2 to eight per cent... Our view is the current conditions in the UK – high demand from corporates, a shortage of candidates and signs of wage inflation – are almost perfect for the staffing companies.
