COMPANY bosses are struggling to find sufficient trained accountants and finance staff, according to a report published yesterday by recruitment firm Robert Half.
The study found 60 per cent of finance directors believe the war for talent in the sector has intensified in the past year.
And 84 per cent say the UK has entered a two-speed jobs market, between those who have the right skills and those who do not have the right training.
The study is another indicator that wages will begin to pick up this year as growing businesses need to hire more staff, but are chasing a shrinking pool of talent.
“Increased economic confidence coupled with job creation and declining unemployment rates spell opportunity for UK businesses,” said Robert Half director Phil Sheridan.
“This is resulting in higher remuneration and a ‘war for talent’ within the UK industry as businesses compete for skilled professionals.”
