The professional services firm has announced the appointment of Mike Walters as a partner and head of its financial risk management group. He was most recently at Barclays, where he was global head of compliance.

Nikko Asset Management
The asset management firm has made two senior appointments. Takuya Koyama has been appointed global head of sales. He previously held senior roles at Nomura Securities, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and Citicorp Securities Japan. Hideyuki Omokawa has been named head of strategic product innovation. He was formerly president of FGI Capital Partners.

BNY Mellon
James Webb has joined the investment management firm’s global markets currency administration team in London. He was most recently at State Street Bank Europe, where he worked in its currency management division.

Sunny Lee has been named president and chief executive of Samsung Electronics Europe. His 30-year career at Samsung has included a number of senior strategic and commercial roles.

The Lloyd’s specialist underwriter has recruited Howard Franks as a consultant. He has 39 years’ experience working at Lloyd’s, and specialises in cargo insurance.

Cantor Fitzgerald Europe
The investment bank has announced two appointments. Tim Medak joins as deputy head of corporate finance and head of its consumer group. He was most recently at EY, where he was a partner. Prior to that, Medak was co-head of Houlihan Lokey’s European corporate finance practice, and a managing director in corporate finance at HSBC Investment Bank. Jamie Cumming joins as a consultant from Brewin Dolphin, where he was chief executive of its securities business.

The title insurance and indemnity provider for the property market has hired Paul Denholm as a specialist underwriter for planning and judicial review. He previously worked for a Local Planning Authority, where he specialised in all aspects of planning.
