FORMER Iceland boss Bill Grimsey has joined forces with decorating firm LG Harris in an attempt to revive the UK’s high street.
Grimsey – who recently launched a review into the high street – and LG Harris announced plans yesterday to launch a campaign aimed at supporting independent retailers.
The 85 year-old maker of decorating products said the campaign, which launches in December, will initially involve helping “a selection of retailers” improve their e-commerce operations, including their websites and social media strategies.
Grimsey said: “This is an excellent initiative and others should follow the example. Our high streets and especially independent retailers will need all the support they can get as mobile technology develops and customers look to be connected to their high street electronically.”
