SARACENS back row Jackson Wray believes the club’s fringe players boast enough talent to deliver the LV=Cup to Allianz Park.
Sarries travel to London Wasps tonight without first team regulars Owen Farrell, Chris Ashton, Joel Tomkins and Billy Vunipola who are all on England duty.
But with the LV= Cup naturally a stage where younger players are given the opportunity to perform, Wray is still expecting fireworks as Saracens bid to finally lift a trophy missing from their cabinet.
“The great thing about Saracens is there is so much strength in depth so you are always challenging for a place in the team no matter how long you have been there,” he said.
“For the young guys this is a great opportunity for them to show they are ready to step up. I know how it works having done it myself.
“We have a really competitive squad and I’m sure whoever gets the chance will give it everything they’ve got.”
Defending champions Harlequins travel to Exeter, with their Sandy Park home the venue for the final this season, and London Irish get their campaign going at Newcastle.
