Serco secures £355m Dubai deal

Outsourcing firm Serco yesterday said it has signed a five-year contract extension worth £355m with the Dubai Government Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Under the agreement, the FTSE 250 firm will continue to operate and maintain the Dubai Metro, with an opportunity to extend the contract for a further two years to 2021. The company first provided pre-launch consultancy and planning to the RTA about the metro in 2007. “[This contract] will support further strong growth opportunities that we see across the Middle East region,” said Serco’s chief executive Christopher Hyman.
