Rod street chief executive British Champions Series

QIPCO British Champions Day has, in just two short years, become one of the world’s most important race days and we’re delighted with the entries for this year’s showpiece.

With the winners of the 2000 Guineas, the Derby, the Oaks, the Ascot Gold Cup and three top-class victors from Arc day set to face the starter, it highlights just some of the talent on show for the richest day in British racing.

It will bring the house down if the Queen’s star filly Estimate can land the opening QIPCO Long Distance Cup and a win will have the bookmakers running for cover on what promises to be a thrilling day’s action.

Every year we have a theme and after the Olympics last year, we’ve gone for Champions in 2013. There will be a unique one-day exhibition celebrating sporting champions from across the sporting world. The Jules Rimet trophy, the FA Cup, the Ashes urn, the Ryder Cup, the Ballon D’Or and the rugby league Challenge Cup are a selection of those on show and will add extra appeal for racegoers, who have a broad interest across all sports.

On a day when the best equine athletes are on show, it’s fitting that some of the most iconic trophies from other sports complement some of racing’s most coveted prizes.
