TOTTENHAM striker Roberto Soldado has revealed his surprise at the quality team-mate Christian Eriksen produced in his Premier League debut on Saturday.
Spurs’s £11.5m summer signing from Ajax laid on the first of midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson’s two goals in the 2-0 home win over Norwich to cap a virtuoso display.
And Soldado, who also moved to White Hart Lane this summer, was impressed with how instantly settled Eriksen looked during his 71-minute midfield masterclass.
“It’s incredible that he has got up to this level already in his first game in English football,” said Soldado. “He’s a brilliant player.
“He is a player that makes everything look easy and that’s good for us. He can offer us a lot of passes to everyone who plays in attack for Spurs.”
Tottenham’s victory moved them up to second in the Premier League table, behind north London rivals Arsenal on goals scored.
Soldado scarcely had a chance to add to the two league goals he has bagged this season, but insisted the points are most important.
“Winning games always comes first for me,” he said. “We know that it’s important to get three points at home, that will be clear at the end of the season.”
