The professional services firm has announced the appointment of Lindsay J’afari-Pak as a partner to lead its tax services to the life insurance industry. J’afari-Pak was most recently at Friends Life Group, where she was group tax director.

UBS Global Asset Management 
Nick Rider has joined the asset management business as institutional sales director. Rider has over nine years’ investment experience, and was previously at Partners Capital, where he was principal.

The private bank has recruited Simon Hopes as market leader for its sports and entertainment business. He was most recently at NatWest and RBS Stockbrokers, where he was head of distribution. Prior to that, he spent 13 years working in RBS and NatWest’s Private Banking business in a variety of roles.

Jones Day 
The law firm has hired Brian Conway as a partner in its banking and finance practice. Conway has nearly 20 years’ experience acting for banks, financial institutions and borrowers. He joins from Latham & Watkins, where he was a partner in its finance department.

Jones Lang LaSalle 
Christopher Holmes has been appointed head of debt UK at the real estate services firm. He has previously held various roles at CBRE, Credit Suisse, and UniCredit Bank.

Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management 
The wealth management business has hired Matt Montana as head of equity trading for the Americas. He was most recently at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was managing director responsible for non-dollar sales and trading.

DHR International 
Xavier Alix has joined the executive search firm as executive vice president. Alix previously spent 24 years at Odgers Berndtson, where he was a managing partner and board member.

The retailer has appointed Stefan Barden as chief executive. He joins from Brakes Bros, where he was chief executive.
