TOTTENHAM manager Andre Villas-Boas has vowed to continue his summer spending spree after completing the £9m capture of Etienne Capoue from Toulouse.
The 25-year-old has won seven full caps for France and can play as either a defensive midfielder or central defender.
Capoue’s arrival at White Hart Lane follows big-money moves for midfielders Paulinho and Nacer Chadli, as well as the record £26m signing of striker Roberto Soldado.
And Villas-Boas says Spurs are not finished there.
“We haven’t finished our business. We will continue to be active and hopefully have the team ready in the next few weeks,” he said. “The ultimate objective is to make the team stronger than the year before.
“We couldn’t manage to get in the top four spot we wanted. Our ambition stays the same and for that to happen we have been very active in the transfer window, not just players coming in, but players going out.
“We are trimming down the squad to make it strong.”
