HARLEQUINS centre Harry Sloan is adamant lightning will not strike twice as his team bid for global 7s success at Twickenham this weekend, after their domestic title challenge ended in a flash last week.
Quins suffered a 19-17 defeat to Leicester on Friday in the JP Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s Series, but can make up for it at the inaugural World Club 7s.
“Everyone is going to be firing. Twickenham is where everyone wants to play and hopefully we won’t have that slow start,” Sloan said. “We should have come out all guns blazing against Leicester but we didn’t and that’s why they came out on top in the end – fair play.”
Quins will face Auckland, ACT Brumbies, and Kuban Krasnodar.
