Private jet lifestyle magazine Elite Traveler has announced its top ten new hotels in the world for 2018, showcasing some the most luxurious and opulent hotels on the planet.
The list of hotels includes lodges in secluded parts of Africa, resorts on unexplored islands, boutique hotels in bustling cities and exclusive guest houses in deep forest settings.
Topping the list was the Bulgari Resort in Dubai, which opened in December last year. For $55,000 (£40,792) per night, you’ll get luxury amenities including dining from a three-Michelin-starred chef and an incredible spa with views of Dubai’s skyline.
Sirru Fen Fushi - a name which translates to ‘Secret Water Island’ - in the Maldives also made the list.
It’s the latest addition to the Fairmont Hotel Collection which also features well-known properties such as The Plaza New York and The Savoy London.
Amenities include a sunset dolphin cruise, expansive spa and private BBQs.
Also on the list was the Amanyangyun resort outside of Shanghai.
The collection of luxury villas are actually antique Ming and Qing dynasty homes that were meticulously taken apart and reconstructed on the site.
Ten thousand camphor trees were also relocated 435 miles from the Jiangxi province to surround the resort.
The Four Seasons’ Megeve resort in the French Alps also features on the list.
The only hotel located on the Mont d’Arbois ski resort, the hotel offers the chance to ski the slopes in winter and in summer, guests can enjoy the Mont d’Arbois Golf Course, designed by British champion Sir Henry Cotton.
The list also includes Jabali Ridge, Tanzania, an assortment of 8 lodges located within Ruaha National Park.
