Sarasin & Partners
Sarasin & Partners has appointed Hadley Simons as chief operating officer of client affairs. Hadley joins the firm from C Hoare & Co, where he was COO for wealth management, with oversight for the division’s financials, change agenda, risk and control management, dealing/custody and client support functions. Having executed the sale of the wealth management division to Schroders, Hadley has since been supporting the bank in a consultative capacity as interim head of change. Prior to this, Hadley was head of change for the UK private bank at Barclays, before which he worked at UBS, running (amongst other roles) their European securities financing operation. Hadley began his career in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, later subsumed into Credit Suisse.
OnTheMarket has appointed Chris Bell to its board of directors as non-executive chairman with immediate effect as the company prepares for its proposed placing and initial public offering on the Alternative Investment Market. Chris has considerable plc board experience across a range of sectors. He has, since 2015, been senior independent director for The Rank Group, where he also serves on both the audit committee and the nominations committee. He is non-executive chairman of two Aim-listed companies, XL Media and TechFinancials, both of which he took to market and at both of which he serves on key governance committees. He is also a non-executive director at Aim-listed Gaming Realms.
With over 30 companies in its portfolio, the London-based company builder Hambro Perks appointed George Davies as a partner. George has joined Hambro Perks as a partner to help progress the next stage of development for the business, and to spearhead the investment team on a day-to-day basis. He will also focus on expanding Hambro Perks’ investment verticals and building the Firm for global growth. Prior to George’s recent appointment, he was an associate partner at McKinsey & Co in their London office. His main responsibilities focused on strategy and corporate finance for a broad range of global clients, with a particular focus on serving financial services and consumer businesses. He lead a range of roles ranging from due diligence to a number of board-level strategy reviews. Previous to his role at McKinsey, George worked for Hedge Fund GLG Partners, was an adviser to the then shadow chancellor, George Osborne MP, and worked as an economic adviser to the President of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
