Bitcoin price (BTC) hits another fresh record high soaring past $6,300

Bitcoin continues its push higher, breaking previous records to reach a fresh all-time high overnight.

The cryptocurrency pushed past $6,300 for the first time, beating its previous record of $6,100 achieved just last weekend.

It's now off those highs at $6,155.67 at pixel time according to Coindesk, but its entire market cap remains above $100bn.

The continued positive performance of the volatile cryptocurrency comes despite warnings from some people that the shine is likely to wear off.

Last week, Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal was the latest to diss bitcoin, calling it the next Enron.
