Man killed in traffic collision at Ludgate Circus

Paramedics were called just before 7am

A man was killed today after a traffic collision near Ludgate Circus.

Twitter users reported a cyclist had been hit, however a City of London spokesperson referred to the man as a pedestrian.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said it had been called at 6.56am to reports of a road traffic collision.

"We sent two paramedics on motorcycles, an ambulance crew and an incident response officer to the scene. London's Air Ambulance was also dispatched," she said.

"Sadly despite the extensive efforts of our ambulance crews, a man died at the scene."

A spokesperson for the City of London Police said officers were currently on the scene, but said the man had not been identified.
