Odeon Cinemas Group
Odeon Cinemas Group, Europe’s largest cinema operator, has appointed David Anderson as its new chief commercial officer, as the group continues to enhance its industry-leading capabilities in the European entertainment market. Reporting to group managing director Mark Way and chief operating officer Jan Bernhardsson, David will join Odeon on 27 November, becoming a key member of the group’s executive committee – leading the next stages of group-wide commercial strategy and its delivery across all of their European markets. He joins from a period of consultancy, most recently with O2 Telefónica where he has been leading a major customer agenda across the company. Prior to that he worked as global chief marketing officer at Fitness First Group, leading a global turnaround based on member profitability and digital capability. He has previously held positions at British Airways, Virgin and Hilton.
Societe Generale recently appointed Anthony Woolley as head of innovation for the UK. Based in London, he reports jointly to Philippe Robeyns, chief operating officer for Europe, Middle East & Africa and Aymeril Hoang, head of innovation for the group. In his new role, Anthony is responsible for strengthening connections between Societe Generale and the fintech sector. Previously, he was chief information officer for Societe Generale in the UK. Anthony has over 20 years of management experience delivering technology solutions to the Corporate and Investment Banking Industry. He joined Societe Generale in July 2010 as head of IT department for UK. Prior to this, Anthony worked for HSBC where he was the global head of FX pricing and e-commerce technology. He held the same position at Citigroup where he worked for nine years and before that was employed by Salomon Smith Barney and Schroders in various capital markets technology roles.
Bfinance, the investment implementation consultancy, has appointed Malcolm Hunt as head of portfolio solutions to the firm’s London team. At bfinance, Malcolm will oversee the newly-created Portfolio Solutions group, taking on services previously managed by Bfinance’s asset class strategists alongside the team of client consultants. Malcolm’s most recent role at MSCI involved overseeing client support for over 600 real estate investment portfolios. Prior to his role at MSCI, Malcolm was a director of UK & Ireland at IPD, a research analyst at M&G and a risk analyst at Bristol & West. Until recently, he was also an associate tutor at Reading University.
