Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has appointed Sophie St John as a private client partner in its client legal services practice. Sophie, who has been a private client solicitor for 20 years, joins RSM Legal from Barclays Wealth and Investment Management where she was lead counsel specialising in trust work. Prior to that she worked in the highly regarded private client divisions of Speechly Bircham, Allen & Overy and Bircham Dyson Bell. The appointment adds a new service offering to RSM’s recently launched client legal services practice which currently offers employment, corporate, partnership and legal regulatory legal services. In her new role, Sophie will work closely with RSM’s private client practice which offers tax and wealth advice to individuals, trustees and estates.
Erik Anderson has been appointed head of corporate broking at Panmure Gordon, and Chloe Ponsonby joins as senior managing director, corporate broking. Erik will be responsible for leading Panmure Gordon's corporate broking business and brings 30 years of experience to our client franchise across a range of sectors. Erik re-joined Panmure Gordon in 2015 following a successful career in senior broking positions across a number of investment banks. He has led numerous IPOs, secondary fund-raisings, acquisitions and take-overs both on London’s main and junior markets. Initially focusing across all sectors, Chloe will drive expansion of our client footprint in the UK. Her broad experience of working with senior client executives across a range of capital and business solutions will be highly valued in the current market. Chloe joins Panmure Gordon from McLean Advisory where she was a partner. Prior to this, she gained substantial experience managing UK equity funds at Jupiter Asset Management, before moving on to advise companies as a corporate broker on strategy and capital raising.
LJ Partnership, the London-headquartered private wealth partnership, has promoted Mark Veale to the role of managing director of its expanding Isle of Man trust and administration team. Mark has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services, fiduciary management and administration sectors, spending the past 17 years specialising in the offshore fiduciary sector. Prior to joining LJ Partnership, he headed up the trust operation of a respected independent firm Kreston in the Isle of Man. Two further new roles have been created within the Isle of Man operation as part of the expansion of Mark’s team. Adam Greenwood has been appointed as finance director and Sophia Birchall as head of compliance.
