Snap is adding major new features to Snapchat messaging, with more room for context and content such as Tripadvisor reviews as well as pushes to action, like ordering an Uber ot Lyft.
Context Cards will bring additional information to Snapchat with a single swipe and it's already working with several partners, also including Foursquare, Michelin and Goop.
The information about locations, such as opening times, directions and contact numbers for restaurants, will be added to pictures as a "more" option when tagged with a location. Users can swipe upwards to view it, avoiding the need for them to search for information with Google.
It opens up a new potential stream of revenue for Snap, which has failed to wow the market since its IPO earlier this year.
The Context Cards, which will first launch in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, will also feature Snapchat stories posted by users publicly related to the area.
