Online fashion retailer Asos launches same-day delivery for its London customers today, in a bid to woo more shoppers with the convenience of its offering.
The service, branded as “Asos Instant” costs £12.95 for orders placed before 10am, compared to £5.95 for the existing next-day delivery option. It will be available every day except Saturday.
Delivery solutions and returns director Matt Rogers said: “Asos has a history of innovation - in our use of technology, our trend setting fashion, and in the best-in-class delivery and service propositions we offer our customers.”
It follows a number of similar moves by retailers designed to ramp up their convenience credentials. Morrisons last year announced a same-day delivery tie-up with Amazon after Tesco launched its own same-day click and collect service.
Asos has notched up rapid sales growth in the past few years, especially as it sells more products outside of the UK.
But the launch in London today is the latest in a series of moves suggesting Asos is still set for more investment in the UK, following its commitment to creating 1,500 new jobs at its Camden headquarters at the end of last year.
The same-day service will be rolled out to other UK cities in the coming months.
