It seems the Prime Minister may be handed her P45 for real soon, after bookies slashed the odds of her leaving her post.
After a disastrous conference speech in which she was beset by woes including a prankster who tried to hand her a P45, falling props and a frog in her throat which refused to hop away, Betfair slashed the odds of her departure before the end of this year.
The chance of her leaving 10 Downing Street before the end of the year has fallen from 9/1 to 5/2, according to Betfair, while she is now odds-on at Betfair Exchange to become the next party leader to leave her position.
Meanwhile, the chances of Boris Johnson taking on the party leadership are at 4/1, while David Davis is at 11/2.
"The Prime Minister has been under immense pressure since the election and yesterday’s speech did nothing to help her cause or her odds of keeping hold of her position," said Katie Baylis, a spokesperson at Betfair.
