Today's City Moves cover fintech, commercial banking and cybersecurity. Take a look at these movers and shakers:

Legal & General Insurance

Legal & General Insurance (LGI) has appointed Nick Frankland into a new role of managing director, fintech, effective from 1 August. Nick joined Legal & General in 2010 as a senior director and has since led a number of major businesses across the group including a period as group digital operations director. Nick specialises in transformation and chief operating officer roles and has an extensive background in sales and marketing. Nick’s most recent success has been as interim CEO of Legal & General Modular Homes where he was asked to take the company through its final stages of set up and into the commercial market. Prior to that Nick was chief operating officer and transformation director for mature savings.

Lloyds Bank

Lloyds Banking Commercial Banking has made two senior appointments to further expand its working capital expertise for UK SMEs. Simon Quin, who previously worked as head of international trade at the bank, will now serve as area director for SME Global Transaction Banking (GTB) in the north east, Yorkshire and Scotland regions. He will lead a team of 10 regional managers specialising in the provision of invoice finance facilities to businesses with a turnover of between £1m and £25m. Tracy Gillett will take up the newly created role of working capital solutions director. Based in London, she will work with the SME GTB leadership team to maximise working capital solutions for customers. Having previously worked in the mid markets team at the bank, Tracy will be responsible for ensuring clients’ working capital and risk mitigation requirements are met to support both domestic and international trading. Both Simon and Tracy will report directly to Andrew Charnley, national sales director for Lloyds Banking Group SME GTB. Both will play a major role in working with knowledge-based industries and brokers.

Crossword Cybersecurity

Crossword Cybersecurity, the technology commercialisation company focusing exclusively on the cyber security sector, has appointed General Sir Nick Houghton GCB CBE, former chief of the defence staff of the British armed forces as a senior adviser. Nick brings unparalleled experience across both government and business. In July 2013, he assumed the appointed position of chief of the defence staff of the British armed forces, retiring in 2016. Previously Nick was vice chief of the defence staff from May 2009. Educated at Sandhurst and Oxford, he commanded 1st Battalion the Green Howards and an infantry brigade in Northern Ireland. Since his retirement Nick became the 160th constable of the Tower of London.
