Train services at London Waterloo are returning to normal after severe disruption this morning, but there are still delays on some lines.

A track defect at a set of points on the fast line at Byfleet & New Haw is blocking some London bound lines between Woking and Surbiton, National Rail said.

As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected to continue until the end of service tomorrow, Tuesday 25 July.

South West Trains earlier advised customers to steer clear of the station until after 9am.

Meanwhile, damage to the overhead electric wires between Ealing Broadway and Hayes & Harlington is causing disruption to journeys between London Paddington and Hayes & Harlington/Heathrow Airport.

The disruption is expected to be in place until 10:30am.
