Hundreds of food delivery drivers are beeping their way through City streets right now on their way to Parliament Square for a demonstration following the worrying rise in acid attacks.
Last week, five acid attacks took place within a three-mile radius over the course of just 90 minutes. At least one victim has been left with what police described as life-changing injuries.
With at least one of the victims named as UberEats driver Jabed Hussain, it follows growing fears of a crime-wave targeting couriers and delivery workers using mopeds to get around London.
A recent article in the Hackney Gazette said Deliveroo drivers were increasingly refusing to travel to areas because of the number of attacks, with some victims ending up in hospital after teenagers demanded they give up their bikes.
